Commence Blogging!

I'm back!  Still recovering and enjoying time with our sweet boy, but finally feeling a little more "normal".  I have lots of yummy photo sessions to get up here on the blog, so I am anxious to get back to doing what I love!  I am also working on a 2011 recap.  Did that year really come and go already?!  I can't wait for the year ahead, but don't want to miss an opportunity to reflect on this past year as well.  I am bound and determined to do that, having a baby on 12/19 means I am just going to do it a little later than hoped:)

First up is more Christmas mini-sessions.  I love this time with clients.  It is fast paced and focused on getting great Christmas card shots, but I really enjoy getting to see folks return year after year.  The Corrigan's are fabulous and had a mini-session last year as well.  Their two cuties are super photogenic...and this year as I watched how they had grown and matured, I couldn't help but think of when our Sharpe will be this age.  Enjoy!

The first photo shoot

Thank you to everyone who has shown Joe, baby and I such support over the past few weeks!  We have felt so loved my so many!  I am slowly getting back on my feet from the pesky c-section, so I apologize for the long wait on the baby photos.  We are adjusting to this new way of life and Joe went back to work this week, so I am figuring out how to get some sort of routine going.

Taking your own infant's photos is a little easier said than done!  Usually the moms on infant sessions are soothing and cooing while I take the photo, so this was a little interesting!  Remind me next time to have a summer baby so we can go outside, too:)

For now, here is Sharpe!  He has a super intense widow's peak that you can see really well in this photo.  Definitely a trait from my side of the family.  We are pretty sure he is going to have blue eyes, but they are still in that grey range where it is a little hard to tell.  I am keeping my fingers crossed!

so sweet!! cant wait to meet him linds!

We can't believe it!  Our little boy is FINALLY here.  I say finally, because, of course, he made us wait a week past his due date to come...and that was only because they scheduled his delivery.  Otherwise, I don't know if he would have ever decided to leave his comfy home of 9 months!  Sharpe Scott Hartsell came on Monday at 11:26am and weighed 8 lbs and 13 oz and was 21.5 inches long.

After having contractions for over 24 hours, I was admitted for my induction Sunday night which led to an un-planned C section on Monday morning.  All that to say, I have not been able to be as up and about as I had originally thought.  My grand ideas of all the photos I was going to take was definitely hindered by the fact that I was #1, completely and utterly exhausted from being up for two nights in a row before having him...and #2, that I couldn't even leave the bed for the first 12 hours of his life.  We(Joe) did take TONS of HD video that we are going to put together which I am really excited about, but my job was the still shots, and honestly that many just didn't happen at the hospital and since being home I have been on pain and baby management.  We hope to have his official newborn photo shoot sometime in the next day though since the weather is going to be so mild and I am finally feeling a little more normal.

For now, here is one shot I did get in the hospital.  I can't wait to take more where you can see his little face better.  He is just so cute!  We are completely taken with our little Sharpe and are so thankful to the Lord for a healthy and happy baby boy.  Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged and celebrated with us.  We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives that care about us and it means SO much!

Soooooo adorable! Congrats to the whole family- what a Christmas gift……. love to all of you-

I am working through blogging all of my Christmas Card mini-sessions over the next few weeks.  I have the amazing pleasure of getting to capture some pretty stellar families!  The Cote's are no different- beautiful and super stylish...especially thanks to daughter Chelsea who helped to coordinate everyone without being too matchy matchy.  We had perfect weather this particular mini-session day and I love that they now have gorgeous family photos together, something every mom wants...no matter how old the kids are!   Happy viewing!

And for those of you who are wondering...yes, my due date was yesterday...and yes I am still pregnant.  That is all I have to say about that.
