true love- carly and mark

I don't think there has been a time in 8 years this poor blog has been so neglected!  I do feel like my "excuses" are pretty good, but I still hate not getting all the pretty up in a timely manor!:)  A little life update, we listed and sold our house, bought a new house that needs a full reno(happening now!) and are living in my grandparents basement while said reno happens.  Yup, that about sums it up!  We are debating starting a new instagram account for the new projects- would anyone in the universe want to follow and see that?! The thought of keeping up with another account, I'm not going to lie, just makes me tired...but there are so many fun projects we are working on, that it would be fun to share! Maybe I'll get that going in the next week or so- we have been documenting our 1966 nearly full "gut" since it started about 2 weeks ago.  Would you want to see?!

Now, lets get this blog party started!  Carly and Mark are just the cutest!  They both work in television news and I can't wait to shoot their December wedding! Carly is a vision in pink- those bold colors really pay off in photographs! Enjoy their bright and love-filled session!

I am so sad to see my time with Kelly and Eric come to an end!  We had so many beautiful shoots together + the wedding at Childress Vineyards, which everyone knows is one of my favorite venues.  The day was beautiful, Kelly looked like a dream, and so many friends and family surrounded she and Eric.  I absolutely LOVE the classic and put together look of Eric and his groomsmen- you can never go wrong with a well-tailored navy suit!  Kelly's dress was one of the show-stoppers of the year, you may remember it from her bridal portrait session I blogged a while back.  Enjoy re-living this day and don't forget to watch their fusion vide at the end, too!  Happy Wednesday!

Wanted to pop in for a little life update!  It's a been a pretty busy summer around here.  Our spring started off in a sprint with 9 weddings in 11 weeks, which also coincided with an upturn in real-estate for Joe, so needless to say- we pretty much survived April, May and June.  I knew that this meant I needed a lot of time off in July and August(save for 2 weddings), so we have been a little off the radar since then!  Another fun(yet stressful) thing that we have been working on since March was buying a new house!  More on that to come soon:)

Our little(or not so little) guys are getting so big!  Sharpe is most definitely in the little boy stage, and Shepherd is completely out of the baby stage...it's hard to believe!  We spent a lot of time at the beach and mountains and tried to balance editing all of the spring/summer weddings while still having fun with the little guys.  As much fun as we have had...CAN SCHOOL PLEASE START NEXT WEEK??!?!?!?!?!?!?!? No, but really.  School, it's time!  We DESPERATELY need a schedule:) Sharpe will be going 5 days to a preschool TK program and Shepherd will be going 3 days.  We all are ready:)  Mama needs to work (and pack, and move, and renovate- all in time, people:))  Here are some updated photos of my guys!  These were taken in July and August.  They have changed so much since the end of school this past spring- I can't wait to do their comparison photos on the first day! It will also be the last "first day" in our current home, which is where every first day photo has been taken- so that definitely has me a little nostalgic! Will share:)  Enjoy a long weekend and let's all get back to the grind on Tuesday:) Happy Labor Day!

So hey, I went completely missing from this blog!  We(me and the kids) took a lot of time off in July and August to enjoy summer and spend time away from home.  I hoped to post more things while out of town, but you know how it goes!;)  There are so many things to blog- get completely excited for the next few weeks! We have some pretty big changes happening in our personal life, so I will be making a "life update" post soon!

Meet Katie and James!  You may remember them from their engagement session and Katie's amazing cherry blossom bridal portrait session.  They chose Alexander Homestead for their wedding, which is settled right in the heart of Charlotte.  It threatened rain ALL day, but it stayed away until everyone was tucked completely into the reception- we were so happy!  Their vows were personal and the joy that flowed from these two was incredible.  Thank you so much for allowing Joe and I to share this day with you!  Also be sure to check out their Photo Fusion Video at the end!  I thin it captured their day perfectly!  Happy Thursday!
