true love- Tyler & Clint

Happy New Year!  All of our family functions have wrapped up, all left overs eaten, and we finally got some much needed rest in this house!  The holidays were filled with lots of wonderment with Sharpe turning 3 and beginning to understand more what Christmas is all about- and our little guy Shepherd just loving all the excitement, wrapping paper, and attention!  We had a blast celebrating the season (once we finally got there and out from under all of our orders and wedding edits!).  Yesterday we spent the New Year organizing our house, getting rid of lots of clutter and preparing for success in 2015 at home.  In the following week Joe and I can't wait to sit down and do some goal setting for personal and business stuff that I will be sharing here and recapping our 2014!  We have some fun stuff to share!  2014 was a 'bear' in many ways...mostly all good, but there were definitely things that "worked" and some things that didn't- and the Type A person in me needs to get that on paper so I can remember and learn from this past year.

But before we get to all of that, there is much blogging to do to catch up on the lost weeks that I am now calling "The Vortex" (pretty much the months of Oct, Nov, and Dec) We can't wait to shoot Tyler and Clint's wedding this year!  The fall brought so many beautiful engagement sessions!  Tyler's brother Nick got married in 2014, so we can't wait to celebrate with them two years in a row! I've said it before, but a family trusting us more than once is the greatest compliment any client can give us!  Here are just some of our favorites from our time together! It was CHILLY and WINDY, but these two were troopers and so much fun- I love them!  Happy Friday! and Happy New Year!

true love- katie & jeff

Ya'll.  It's Thanksgiving week.  I had really grandiose plans of getting all my work done to be able to sit with the babes, go shopping, put up the Christmas decorations and take time off for a few.  It was a great idea...sadly just not one that could be executed.  Pink eye happened, which meant no school happened, then the stomach bug happened to Shepherd(on me, in the middle of lunch), then that same lucky stomach bug happened to Joe and I- within 15 minutes of each other.  So yes, I am behind, but what the last week has taught me is that I need to be more grateful for the healthy times!!! Having sick littles is no fun- we worried about Shepherd all weekend.  He's huge, so it's easy to forget he is not even 10 months old yet.  Thankfully he is on the mend and Joe and I's stomachs will hopefully be back to normal soon.  What's worse than having a sick little baby?  Having a sick husband;)   This work WILL get done, it always does.  All of my happy clients will make the editing cave I am about to go into not so bad- they are all pretty adorable- case in point: Katie and Jeff:)

I just love these two!  I think I smiled the whole time I edited this session.  Katie used to teach with Joe- and I am so glad she found someone so perfect for her!  I adore them and we can't wait to shoot their wedding at the top of a mountain next year:)  Happy Tuesday!

So many fun engagement sessions happening this fall for my 2015 wedding couples!  Patti and Jonathan booked me before I had Shepherd, so it was a long time coming to finally get together and shoot their engagement session!  We had an amazing time shooting all around Raleigh, and even included their

I've been on my college tour these last few weeks!  I've been all over the state shooting at everyone's al ma matters- and have been taking notes for the kids:)  I have not shot at Duke once in 7 years- then twice in just one month!  I love these two- we had such a great time!  Morning shoots have been really good to me lately!  I loved getting to know MC and Aaron better and can't wait for their wedding next year.  2015 weddings are going to be stunners!  Enjoy:)

Loved Marycobb's outfits!
