Any wedding at the Biltmore is bound to be a good one! I hit it off with Melissa right away, and we were so thankful that she chose us to be her photographers! She, her mom and future mother in law made the trip FROM Asheville to Concord to meet with me- I never take for granted the time my brides take to find the perfect photographer! Their wedding was a dream- the most perfect 'just before fall' Asheville weather and I loved shooting at this venue on site- we have shot other venues on the property, but this was our first time at Antler Hill…and it did not disappoint! Blue skies, so much love, and details to make your heart swoon- enjoy this wedding and be sure to watch their fusion video at the end! One of my favs!
The Farm at Brusharbor is one of our most favorite venues! We can't wait to get back out there again this year to shoot the wedding of Kristin and Matt! We had a great time at our engagement session, although it was one of the most humid days of the year- these two were total troopers and I love our images! I can't wait to celebrate with them and their families! As we all sit and wait on SNOWMAGEDDON, take in these two love birds when there was still color all around:) Happy Friday!
Ya'll, I am straight embarrassed by the lack of posting! Im so sorry! In the new year, I promise to do better:) It't not for lack of amazing things to show you, just a lack of sanity and time during this move/transition/remodel we have been going through since the better part of August. It's been said that moving is one of life's biggest events, and while I have moved plenty of times before, this one has kicked my rear like none other! The 2 kid equation plus 2 businesses plus a total house remodel is no joke- but there is light at the end of the tunnel.(PS- you can follow some of our remodel on instagram at @downtownacres) I am excited over these winter months, which tend to be slow in the photography world, to catch up on some of the amazing moments we were thankful to be a part of in 2016. There's going to be some jumping around and some consecutive ordering of things, but the main thing is I want to get it all up here before another wedding season is upon us! Stay tuned these next few weeks for all of the wedding goodness you can stand! I also hope to be revealing a new senior website- there just hasn't seemed to be the right place to showcase that side of my business, so a site dedicated to that is in the works, too!
Mollie and Brock had the most amazing winter wedding. November can be a crap shoot, but they had golden light all day- I can't wait to share! Here are a few favs from her bridal portrait session. We shot these on a friend of the families property- little did their family friend know he was going to get hook/line/sinkered into being my lighting assistant for the entire shoot:) It made for a such a fun day! Enjoy! and Happy New Year!
This blog has been quiet! And I keep promising myself I am going to catch up....it's not for lack of amazing things to show...just a lack of having a normal life! We are in such a crazy season right now! Our remodel is progressing along, but it is taking constant managing on top of it being "fall"- which is a REAL 4 letter word to wedding and portrait photographers;) I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, though! Christmas is coming-which means I am in the final crunch for orders and deliveries, but rest is coming:) I HAD to share these pics of my boys at the pumpkin patch before everyone forgets the fall happened and moves 100% onto Christmas! We ran down to Almond Farm on 601 one evening at the very end of the day and played for 30 minutes and got these shots. It's been that sort sort of life lately- quick 30 minute playtimes....but I keep telling myself this season is not forever! It's just for now and we will get through it:) If you want to follow some snippets of our remodel- be sure to check out the instagram we create to document the progress: @downtownacres. How are these two SO BIG?!?!?!?! I love them to pieces! Happy Thanksgiving Week!
