{april & cody} day after session

 
 

On Mondays, Sharpe and I try to lay low at the house and I try to get a lot done.  He is usually exhausted from a busy weekend and still takes two long, good naps, so I try to get orders processed, do my editing, and catch up on email backlogged from the weekend.  Today it is so cold and dreary outside that I was SO EXCITED when I saw there was a Twilight Movie Marathon on tv!  It's the small things, people.  I know I am probably a little too old to care, but I LOVE IT!  I'm team Edward, in case anyone wanted to know;)

Getting back to work- as promised here are some of my favorite photos from my Day After session with April and Cody.  I was dark before their ceremony even started, so getting natural light Bride and Groom Portraits of these two just wasn't possible.  A Day After session is just that- they got all gussied up the day after the wedding and we went and took some beautiful portraits!  If you are a bride and groom who don't want to see each other before the ceremony AND it is going to be dark outside after your ceremony, then this is something for you to think about.  Enjoy and Happy Monday!

Brrrr...it was a pretty chilly end to December but no amount of cold could stop the warmth that surrounded April and Cody  on their wedding day:) And I really meant that!  April is one of my oldest friends and I could not be happier for her and Cody!  Truly!  I've dreamed of who I thought April would end up with for years, and I do think it is fairly safe to say that Cody trumps everyone's even best dreams for April.  They are THAT good together!   I am just now realizing that I haven't shared April's bridal portraits....AND their Day After session!  Yes, get excited, more of this couple to come! Having an evening, winter wedding, it was so great of these two to realize that we would be limited in what we could do after the ceremony photo-wise, so they decided to book a day after session.  Look for those first of the week, but for now, enjoy some of my favorites from their perfectly sweet wedding day.  You two, I can't wait to keep "doing life" together. Love you!

My sweet, sweet Kait.  In college I was a Young Life leader at a local high school where I met a fun group of sophomore girls sitting in the lunch room.  Although they probably thought I was weird(I mean, I was in college hanging out at a high school lunch room) they agreed to be my friends and we had so many fun times together going to football games, having sleepovers, watching lots and lots of volleyball and soccer, and of course that time I chaperoned their prom- in an 80's prom dress.  They still loved me...and then, in the blink of an eye, they all grew up.  I saw them off to college, listened when they had breakups, wrote recommendations for their "real" job apps, celebrated all the wins in their lives and listened through all the losses.  This group of girls means the world to me and I have had the AMAZING privilege of seeing many of them meet the man of their dreams, fall in love, and finally....get married.

Kait and Blake are special.  I knew Kait would find someone amazing, and she did.  I knew her future husband would be perfect for her, and he is.  I knew she would find happiness following God's plan for her life, and she has.  These two are quite the power couple, you can't help be want to be around them.  Their FUN is contagious and LAUGHTER infectious.  Blake, I couldn't have dreamed up someone better for my friend.  You both make me very proud and I can't see what the future holds!  Thank you for trusting me with your day, it's not something I will ever take for granted.

I know I say all my couples are the sweetest people I have ever met, but I have never meant it more than I mean it when I'm talking about Brandon and Natalie.  These two are just precious and worth their weight in gold.  They love all the people around them so well, and there wasn't one guest who wasn't completely filled with joy at their wedding.  Their friends and family surrounded them with love...and holy cow, they had the best wedding weather ever.  November can be a total crapshoot weather wise, but their outdoor ceremony was filled with the best glowy light and I was one happy photographer.  I hope married life is treating you two exceptionally well!  So excited for what the future holds for both of you!

My clients are amazing.  Their spirits, their love, their families. I love them.  Katy and Marc had such a beautiful wedding and Joe and I were thankful to be there.  The fall was SO kind!  The weather could not have been more amazing and Vanlandingham Estates is one of the best venues in Charlotte.  PLEASE check it out if you are still venue shopping!

We have been in Christmas Card Chaos around here with all of our fall sessions, but it did my soul good to sit down and make this post.  Couples like Marc and Katy are EXACTLY why I have the best job in the world!  Thanks you two for being SO amazing!  Enjoy photos of their beautiful day!
