Oh goodness! I have been so excited about this wedding for so long! I have been DYING to get out to Adaumont Farm to shoot on this amazing property and it surely did not disappoint! Jennifer and JP had all fingers and toes crossed for beautiful weather in early April and the day could not have been more perfect. It's been so fun getting to work with them and finally seeing everything come together so wonderfully was the icing on the cake. Outdoor venues are our absolute favorite to shoot, so creative juices were flowing and I love the images we captured! So many fun and beautiful details will make this wedding one I will never forget. A big thanks to Shelley for her great planning and vision and for helping to get the venue picture perfect! Enjoy some of our favorites and don't forget to watch the slideshow at the end for more photos. Jenn and JP- nothing but the best for you! Thanks for trusting us with your most perfect day! Happy Monday!
For those of you that follow me on Instagram or Facebook you know that I just got back from a week of learning all new sorts of stuff at a phenomenal photography workshop. It is the second time that I have been to this workshop and the experience is just CRAZY! It is called AFTER DARK, and the reason they call it this is no joke:) No early morning classes because the creating goes LATE into the night (I'm talking 3 and 4 am here!) Creatives from all over the world unite to learn from each other and mentor each other. It is very hands on, there are no stupid questions, all the mentors are open books and no "Trade" secrets exist here. They say you get addicted to this learning environment, and I'm proof! I can't wait to go to the next one, too! There is something new to learn every time! I can't wait to show some of the shots I took during the creating times and I can't wait to implement a lot of things I learned int he business pods. I'm throwing it out into the universe that I want to teach a class one day at AD;) I did find one mentor to be someone who I want to be like when I grow up- Bob Davis. Master of Light and Flash- he has photographed many celebrity weddings(including the Bachelorette Ashley and JP's wedding- Whoa! My two passions unite! ha!). I spent a lot of time at his seminars and learned so much about light and skin tones that I didn't even know I didn't know! I can't wait to take my camera skills to the next level thanks to him. Be sure to check back when I post some of the photos I took. Many were something I would never do on my own or techniques I would never try in everyday life, so I am so thankful for such a creative place to learn and grow!
Speaking of being out of town, there is lots to catch up on! Two weddings to blog, bridals to post and wedding season marches on! Up next is Elizabeth and Ben. I can't wait to shoot their wedding this fall! We had such a beautiful day for portraits before they headed back up the road to Raleigh where they live. I just love the old Bronco!(wait, I think it's a bronco? Yea, I know a lot about cars;)) Such a fun car that has been in Ben's family. Everyone have a great Friday! Enjoy!
Whitney and Mike were married Saturday on what could possibly be the best wedding day of the year:) Friday night when it was storming to the high heavens there were a lot of folks stressing, so to have the weather be so wonderful, it was magic! The bride's mom may or may not have called the local tv station to ask about weather...she was serious about whether or not to rent a tent! I can't wait to share more from their wedding, but for now enjoy my favorites from Whitney's bridal session. It was a freezing cold day which made us have to really get our money's worth out of the inside of the Duke Mansion, but let me say I could not be happier with her photos! Love them:) Indulge me while I over-blog this session:) Too many favs to pick! Amazing hair and makeup by Lindsey with LRT BE PRETTY. I think she and I make a pretty good team:) Hereby known as "The Lindsey's":) Enjoy!
Sarah and Scott bleed NC STATE Red:) They are so cute together and I loved getting to meet up with them around Raleigh to hit up some campus spots before heading out to our second beautiful location. I am so excited for their wedding this fall for a number of reasons. 1) their reception is at one of our MOST favorite venues The Millennium Center 2)they are having THE MOST AMAZING WEDDING BAND IN EXISTENCE Party on the Moon and 3) they are just the perfect couple and we can't wait to see them tie the knot! Here are juts a few of our favorite shots from their engagement session! Enjoy!
I hope everyone had a wonderful "spring break"! Joe had all of last week off, so we took off to the beach for the first part of the week and spent the last part of the week shooting some amazing sessions and an amazing wedding. The weather yesterday for Jennifer and John's wedding was more than perfect and a great kickoff for the spring wedding season. Meanwhile, I am still determined to get through all the fall blogging backlog. Here we go! How cute is this little bump?! Brooke and Dustin welcomed a baby girl into their family. I am so glad I could capture some of the last photos of them before they became parents! Happy start to a fresh week everyone!
