Ya'll, I directly fell off the blogging map there for a minute!  We managed our schedule this fall much better than usual, but I have been very much in a "keep my head down and focus" mode for the last 6 weeks!  I truly wanted to enjoy my holidays so blogging was the thing that I just had to let go of in an effort to get all my work done.  I have to say, though, success(with still room to grow) was achieved! I met all of my deadlines and still managed to get to do some fun things with the kids this holidays season vs. the usual crying in a ball at 1am at the studio because I am so overwhelmed fall/Thanksgivings/Christmases of yesteryear.  If you remember my year in review from last year, you can give me a high 5 when you see me for sticking to what I set out to do this fall, which started with schedule management a whole year ago:) My family has been happy to see me more during what is usually a very tortuous time around here.  I am thankful for all of the memories we have gotten to make and for a much happier household!

All that to say, there is SO MUCH BEAUTIFUL STUFF that needs to get on my blog!  The slow season is going to be filled with people in love for many weeks to come!  Please check back often as I will be back on a regular schedule sharing all of my beautiful, talented and thoughtful clients on the happiest days of their lives!

First up in this long run of happy and romantic days are Tabby and Josh! Their wedding was at The Arbors, which is one of our top preferred venues in all of western North Carolina. The property is unmatched we have been fortunate enough to shoot there a few times.  Tabby and Josh did do a first look which made for such a smooth and stress free day!  We love when our couples choose this option and can get straight to the reception after only a few post ceremony photos.  We loved working with Lisa Pleasant, who kept the day running on schedule and made sure everything was in its place.

Here are a few of our favorites, and don't forget to check out their photo fusion video at the end:) As always, shooting video alongside our photography makes our heart happy.  Enjoy!

Erica and Kevin had such an amazing wedding at Old Edwards Inn up in Highlands, NC.  It rained and thunder stormed the day we shot her bridals there, so I was so happy to have a beautiful fall rayon the actual wedding day- it sorta made it feel like it was worth it to have the rain drama the other day to get the day we had on the wedding day!  Let me talk for a few seconds about the beauty of Old Edwards Inn- it is truly amazing.  The Farm, which is the venue Erica and Kevin used, a part of the Old Edwards Property, is one of the most beautiful venue spaces we have ever worked with.  If you are considering more of a destination wedding, we absolutely love this space!  Ok, back to Erica and Kevin, the most important part of this story.  I have known this sweet friend since middle school, and I love that no matter how much time passes, whenever we see each other, we jump right back into the old familiar way that we have had since we were 12 years old and jumping on the trampoline in her backyard while wearing our white Kaepa tennis shoes:)  oh, and don't forget the limited 2. I  think we spent a lot of our time trying to harass her older and much cooler sister Ashley, stealing her CD's and talking about boys! So many memories flood back when I think about Erica.  I first met Kevin at Ashley's wedding and it was obvious right away that these two were such a special pair.  Erica was truly herself, which is one part ADD and one part EXTREME focus and Kevin rolled with the flow with all of it:)  I am so happy for them and so thankful they chose us to capture their special day.  We truly feel like family, I mean her parents did know me with braces and weird curled bangs + acne, so I love being with them and witnessing such a special day.  Don't forget to watch the slideshow at the bottom for a few more favorites:)  Happy Monday!

Dream team: Maura with Honey Darling Events and Kirk with Oak Leaf, for florals and event design. Old Edward Inn Spa Staff for hair and makeup.

Working with Katie and Jeff over the last year has been such a pleasure.  I love this couple!  Katie used to teach with Joe and I was more than honored when she asked us to photograph her intimate Linville Ridge Country Club wedding.  Set on the side of a mountain, everything Katie planned was just beautiful.  Their family came from near and far and Katie and Jeff rolled out the red carpet for them with a weekend full of amazing events.  The thing with intimate weddings is that the bride and groom can truly be present with their guests, and that was definitely the case here.  Katie set aside time for her whole family to have group portraits and everyone danced the night away.  We were so happy to capture it all, but mostly, to see Katie just so incredibly happy!  They both "caught" each other and I will never forget this day! Enjoy just some of my favorites and don't forget to watch their fusion at the end, it is now one of my top favorites we have ever done. Happy Thursday!

Lindsey Lee Bride: Leslie

So excited to share just a few of my favorites from Leslie's bridal session!  It's no secret that any time I can get out to The Ivy Place for bridal portaits I am in complete heaven.  Their gardens are unmatched with their perfect amount of messy and polished.  Such a beautiful spot for such a beautiful bride!  Happy Tuesday everyone!

{Kelle & Sam} DEI Pavilion

This year I deem "Year of the Sibling".  This happened a couple of years ago, too.  I guess it is a little cyclical!  Where to even begin with Kelle and Sam.  I've been loving her since she was in middle school, her family means the absolute world to me, and really....there are just no words.  This family is one of the most selfless families I know.  Amazing parents raising a house full of kids, all who have turned out to be pretty incredible human beings.  It's easy to see why, because when you are around this family, you just FEEL. THE. LOVE.  Truly.  With open arms, everyone is drawn in and made to feel right at home.  I guess that happens with you have 6 kids and hoping to adopt more.  Kelle and Sam have the sweetest love story, and what's funny about this wedding is that we have shot a sibling on BOTH sides of the bride/groom.  It was a perfect culminating trifecta!  Joe and I have been been for them since their relationship first started, and it was easy to see they were meant for each other.   I really can't do this post justice so I'll let the photos speak for themselves:  Kelle, I have never seen you more happy.  Sam, I am so proud of you for making this lady your wife;)  We love you all so much!

Enjoy these photos from their beautiful wedding (which happened right before it started raining for 3 weeks).  Their reception venue is the new Pavilion at DEI.  I couldn't recommend more, and you will see why.  I don't know that there is a more beautiful venue in all of the Charlotte Metro area.  Don't forget to watch the slideshow at the bottom for more photos.  Happy Friday!
