Bridals: Sarah

So I really want Sarah to get married every year. I have loved working with her and Ryan... and basically Sarah is one of my most favorite people to photograph. Truly. Her bridal session was one of those days where all the stars aligned...it was the perfect day with the perfect weather with the perfect dress. And the light, let's not forget about that. Enjoy these!

We started with just a couple inside the Dairy Barn, which is where the two got married. The natural light coming through the back window was perfect...

chapel length veil...yes, please.

    Absolutely Stunning!

Can we just have a moment of silence in honor how much I loved Sarah and JR's wedding day....

Ok, thanks. But seriously, how beautiful of a day did these two luck out with?! It was the most goergious wedding day and all of the little details that Sarah had been working months on finally all came together. For starters, she is the Etsy queen. Really. No detail was spared as she bought gifts and decor off of Etsy for the wedding and left nothing undone. The hairpieces of the bride, the bridesmaids, the bridesmaids necklaces, the pinwheels at the reception, her clutch, the list goes on. It was amazing. I was in heaven. Etsy heaven.
Sarah and JR also did a First Look, which is where the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony, allowing PLENTY of time for photos. Not only just photos of the two of them, but it allows time for lots of photos of the whole wedding party as well. Everyone got ready at the Holiday Inn in uptown, then we all loaded a super fun party bus that took us to NODA where we took lots of photos. Their ceremony and reception were both held at The Big Chill so it was really great to have already taken the majority of the photos(really ALL of them) before the reception so there was a nice flow to the day.
Enjoy these photos and don't forget to click on the slideshow at the end for more pics of their day! Oh! and one more thing...ALL of the girls hair and makeup were by Lindsey and her LTR team. They looked amazing, don't ya think? Have a great weekend!

I love working with Joe. He rocks. I am really going to start pointing out his photos here on the blog because he is a super important part of the business. Above is his shot of JR and below my photo view is on the far left and his shots are on the right. I think I like his perspective tons better. Those second set of eyes are priceless...

I am so excited to announce the next workshop date! Joe and I will hold the next workshop on February 12th, 2011. The class is limited to the first 15 people and spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. We hope to hold a couple of these in 2011, so if you don't get in this time, still email and I will add you to a mailing list to be the first to know for the next one.

Here is what you need to know:

*The class will be from 9am-1pm with lunch provided

*This is a class for beginner DSLR users. What if you don't have a digital SLR? Borrow one and come join the fun! The class is for people who have never "gotten off green" when using their camera to those who have read the manual but still don't completely understand what the heck an f/stop is. (if you are reading this and don't know what an f/stop is, this class is for you, too:)) It is not a class to become a professional photographer, but for those of you that just want to take better pictures with that fancy camera you have and actually understand what you are doing.

*There will be lots of one on one time and plenty of time for questions- then we will all practice what we have learned with real LIVE models.

*Tuition is $150 and limited to 15 people. Email me at lindseyleelancaster@gmail.com to hold your spot. I will email you back reserving your spot and will then confirm with you when the tuition is received. Due to the size and nature of the class, the tution is non-refundable.

*location TBD in the Concord/Kannapolis area.

I can't wait to meet the next bunch of workshop attendees! You can see more about the last workshop HERE. And because no post is any good with out a photo- here is a sneak peak at my 2nd Sarah's bridal portaits and coming up next is the first Sarah and Jr's wedding photos!

I love this girl! I had a little string of seniors that waited until the fall for their photos and I am so glad they did! Emily had the most amazing colors this fall at her session. And- here we go again with more gorgeous blue eyes. Happy Wednesday!

Faith

There are no words for how much Amy and her family mean to me. really. none. She is one of the bravest people I know. Back in May when Amy went to the doctor to investigate what she thought was a clogged milk duct, it was shocking news to find that it was not a clogged duct, but in fact a tumor and she was almost immediately diagnosed with breast cancer...stage three requiring chemo, radiation and a double mastectomy. The news came hard and fast, and decisions had to be made. quickly.

When I found out I cried, a lot, then left a pretty terrible crying message on Amy's voicemail. In hindsight that was probably super unhelpful...But Amy has always been, well Amy. She has walked beside me through really great times in my life, and some hard times, too. It was a SHOCKING reminder that cancer can touch anyone. I really already knew this because my grandmother is a breast cancer survivor, but Amy is 31, she has an eight month old baby. This isn't supposed to happen to her.

Have Faith. That is what Amy has been doing. She is great at that...she always has been.

So now, Charis has turned one and a two weeks later Amy had a double mastectomy. Her prognosis looks good, she still has radiation to go, and though they never give you a clean bill of health once you have cancer, there is much to celebrate. These photos were taken just before her surgery a few weeks ago, and they serve as a powerful reminder of the journey the Lord has her on. And Adam. Adam, her best friend and husband and rock. It is their journey together. The pictures of Charis are a reminder that she is a God-send and a joy to love. She has the best personality- she gets that from her mom:) You can read more of Amy and her familiy's story here.
